Organizational Industrial Organization studies industrial behavior and performance while taking account of the internal organization and contracting problems faced by firms, rather than assuming they are neoclassical ``black boxes.'' The lecture will discuss some recent papers in the theoretical and empirical literatures, focusing on the determination of firm boundaries and their effects on market outcomes.
